Training 2009
 The final Reds
Sarasota exhibition schedule opens on Feb. 25 on the road at the
new Charlotte Sports Complex as they take on the AL Champs the
Tampa Bay Rays. The Reds make a total of three trips to Port
Charlotte in 2009 with two additional matches on March 18 and 28
respectively as well as 4 meetings with the Yankees, also 2 home
stands against the NY pinstripes. Baseball is a Sarasota
tradition dating back to 1924, when the New York Giants arrived.
They were followed by the Red Sox and then the White Sox. Now
the Cincinnati Reds take the field in 2009 for the last time in
Sarasota, with games at Sarasota's Ed Smith Stadium. Beginning
in 2010, the team will train at its new complex in Goodyear,
Arizona. This may be your last chance to see major league
Spring Training played in Sarasota unless the city can make a
deal with another Major League team.
Ticket prices for Reds 2009 spring
training games are $16 for box seats, $14 for reserved seats and
$9 for general admission. This spring there will be six Premium
games at Ed Smith Stadium, including afternoon exhibitions
against the World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies
(February 27), New York Yankees (March 1, March 31) and Boston
Red Sox (March 25) in addition to home night games against the
Red Sox (March 19) and Minnesota Twins (March 26). Prices are $2.00 more for Premium
Games.

On January 17, tickets will be sold at the third base ticket booth on the
east side of the ballpark, located at 12th Street and Tuttle Avenue in
Sarasota, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Beginning January 19, the ticket
booth will be open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and
Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. The ticket booth is closed Sundays,
